Reminder: No Workshops this weekend – Memorial Day Holiday
(We will be home if you want to drop in and work on your project – just give us a call first, please)

Last weekend’s workshops were amazing – exhausting but amazing.

Lots of progress was made on the projects in Dan’s Friday and Sunday Build Stuff Workshops. Phoebe finished painting one of the horses and got an undercoat on the next one. Ramses II is really taking shape. Kris’ machine gun now has shoulder brace and is actually looking like a gun. Ross is learning to solder and to create wonderful geometric shapes out of brass. Corey made a mock-up of his diorama – the parade scene from the movie, Milk.

On Sunday we welcomed our newest recruit to Autistry Studios – Carissa. She proved herself to be a true member when she arrived with a drawing of a sword based on the weapon of an anime character! She made a mock up in wood and we have ordered aluminum for the blade. Nick is nearly finished with the structure for his new model train layout and will soon be working on the landscaping. Peter and Dan worked together to build storage carts for all the excess lumber around here. They will also build roll around cabinets for us.

Nate’s Saturday Filmmaking Workshop was an exercise in managing chaos. Everyone chipped in to help Wesley film Shack’s Shack. The computer room was transformed into a bar and Wesley was transformed into several outrageous characters (you must look at the photos this week!!). We were very impressed with how well everyone worked together and put aside their own projects to help Wesley. Next session we will all crew for the other students.

Also – for those who want to continue on with Nate’s Filmmaking in July please let us know as we are putting together the class lists now. We will open additional workshops in July if we need to but we’d like to plan ahead for this. Here is the info for the summer film workshop:

Jen and I really enjoyed doing this and we will be happy to work on costuming projects in the July Structures of Fantasy Workshop(s). Jen can also provide guidance and support for those who want to work in clay (figures, beading, etc) and fabric dying/printing. There are a few slots open for the July workshop so if you know anyone who would be interested have them call Janet. Here is the info:
